On Tuesday 11th December we had a Teddyboy Special. We featured all of the Teddy-style groups and some old retro groups from the seventies and eighties. Bands featured on this night included Crazy Cavan, Johnny Quantrell, Flying Saucers, Kentucky Boys, Rockin' Devils, Johnny & the Jailbirds, the Rapiers, Memphis Bend, Shotgun, Shades, Freddie Fingers Lee, Matchbox, Johnny & the Roccos, the Cruisers and many more.

On Tuesday 27th November we had Vince Eager on the show. He came down to promote his latest double CD called 'The Complete Vince Eager'. This fantastic CD has an incredible 62 tracks of everything Vince has recorded. Vince has also had a book published called 'Vince Eager's Rock'n'Roll Files'. The book has an incredible 231 pages of his interesting and quite humorous life.

Because of unforseen circumstances, the visits of the Rat Pack, Janie and Ade on the 23rd October, Bill Haynes on the 30th October, and Charlie Gracie on November 6th had to be cancelled. We hope to re-arrange all their visits for future shows.

On the 23rd October we had Nonsense and Strange Titles Part 2 with tracks like The Platters\Oochie Patchie, The Rays\Zimba Lulu, Jimmy Dell\Teenie Weeny, Tracy Pendarvis\Uh Uh Oh Yeah and so on. The first part about six months ago was a big success.

On Tuesday 16th October we had GRT club member Gary Ponsford (membership number 0143.) Gary came down to play a selection of their favourite tracks! Gary and his wife Julie (who unfortunately couldn't make it tonight) live in Walsall, West Midlands, and they sponsored the whole show - Thanks Guys!!

On Tuesday 9th October we had a night called At The Hop. This night featured tracks with the word HOP in the title. For example Danny & Juniors - At The Hop, Santo & Johnny - Hop Scotch, The Platters - Hula Hop, Bobby Darrin - Queen Of The Hop, Morgan Twins - TV Hop, Earl Hooker - Frog Hop, Bill Pinky - After The Hop and loads more! Another great music only night, even Carl Perkins was At The Record Hop!!

Unfortunately the Top Cats had to postpone their planned visit to Radio Caroline - watch this space !

On Tuesday 2nd October we had The Rhythm Aces. These teddyboys are getting rave reviews wherever they play. They like to be known as The New Edwardians. They backed up legendary British singer Terry Wayne when he played over here, and he was very impressed with them. They came on the show to chat about the band and play some new material they have just recorded, and also play some favourite tracks for the listeners!!

On Tuesday 25th September, Chas Hodges came down with his wife Joan, to plug his latest CD called 'Before We Grow Too Old'. He also brought his guitar and played some 'live' numbers in the studio. Chas has played with The Outlaws, Rebel Rousers, Chas & Dave, and of course the Chas Hodges Rock'n'Roll Trio. His new CD really rocks!

On Tuesday 11th September we had Terry Dene on the show. Terry came down with Keith Woods, who is organising a gig in October at the 100 Club, London, to celebrate Terry being in the music business for 50 years! Terry made records like A White Sports Coat, Start Movin', Come And Get It and many more. He starred in the film 'The Golden Disc'.

On Tuesday 4th September we had Garry Mills on the show! Garry had a huge hit in 1960 with 'Look For A Star'. Some of his other records were Top Teen Baby, I'll Step Down, Hey Baby You're Pretty, Footsteps, Seven Little Girls, Running Bear and many more. He came down with his wife Rosie, and chatted about his early singing career.

On Tuesday 28th August we had Mr. Suzie-Q himself Dale Hawkins. Dale came to the studio with his UK friend Graham Barker. Dale was appearing at a weekend in Spain, and came to the UK for a lightning visit, and it was fantastic that he could join us at Radio Caroline. Dale will be remembered for Suzie-Q and La-Do-Dada in the late fifties, and he is now celebrating 50 years in the music business, and has also just recorded a new album called 'Back Down To Louisiana'.

The whole show was sponsored by club member Steve Willis (0006) from Rollin' Records in Beckenham, Kent. Thanks Steve!

On Tuesday 14th August we had Ray Dexter. Ray recorded with the legendary Joe Meek and had a single on Decca in 1962 called The Coalman's Lament / Lonely Weekends. He brought down some early unreleased recordings, and also played live in the studio. He has released several albums over the years as well. Ray is also a member of our GRT club!!

On Tuesday 7th August we had BOP & BOPPIN' PART 2 with another bumper load of boppers. We played tracks like Art Adams/Boppin' The Blues, Chan Romero/Boppin' & Hoppin', Bill Justice/Bop Train, Jack Earls/Let's Bop, Gladiollas/Be-Bop Girl, Arlie Neville/Boppin' Bug and dozens more. Another hot show!!

(Sadly Graham Fenton had to cancel tonight for family reasons.)

On Tuesday 31st July we had Strollin' Steve back on the show. He returned to play another selection of favourite tracks, and he chatted to us about the many weekenders he is promoting. He also told the listeners about a new club in Wicksteed Park, Northamptonshire which will open in the Autumn. Steve kindly offered to sponsor this show himself - thanks mate!

On Tuesday 24th July we had club member Rodney 'Rocker' Rich (membership number 0144) in the studio with his life long mate Tony Senger. They are based in Eastleigh, Hampshire. Rodney was celebrating his 65th birthday, and he sponsored the whole show. What a star !!

On Tuesday 17th July we had Tony Fry on the show. Tony has been involved with his local BBC radio stations for over 21 years. He has worked with BBC West Midlands, Stoke, Hereford and Worcester, and Shropshire. He has worked as a researcher and discographer for doo-wop, rock'n'roll, blues and R&B. Tony played a selection of his favourite tracks and chatted about his interesting musical life!!

On Tuesday 3rd July unfortunately Roy Young was unable to come on the show because of ill health, but he has promised to come on when he recovers. Roy was famous for being the wild piano man in the BBC Television Show Drumbeat in 1959.

On Tuesday 26th June we had another fifties legend Terry Wayne, who came down with his brother Cliff. Terry made quite a few singles on Columbia in the late fifties, like Slim Jim Tie, Matchbox, She's Mine, Plaything, All Mama's Children etc. Club members Malcolm Minney and East End Mark sponsored part of the show!

On Tuesday 19th June we had a show called BOP & BOPPIN', featuring songs with the words Bop or Boppin' in the title. This night we bopped our socks off!!

On Tuesday 12th June we had Tim's Jumpin' Jive record hop on the show. Tim, who lives in London, has been on the scene for many years, and he came on the show to play a selection of his favourite jump jive tracks for the listeners!

On Tuesday 15th May we had a night called Strange Titles And Nonsense. Many songs were released in the 50's & 60's with odd titles that didn't make sense. This three hour special included Boyd Bennet - "Switchie Witchie Tichie", The Bobettes - "Um Bow Wow", The Chords - "Zippety Zoom", The Crew Cuts - "Oop Shoop", Ronnie Dawson - "Do Do Do, Dion", and Don & Dewey - "Bim Bam". You can see where this show is going, it's going to be fun, Bop-A-Dee-Bop-A-Doo. Where did they get them from! Shoo-Doo-Wop-De-Wooo! Even more nonsense than usual !!

On Tuesday 8th May, unfortunately The Firebirds couldn't make it to the show, but they have promised to visit Radio Caroline soon. Dell and Jan had an impromtu Mixed Bag night.

On Tuesday 1st May we had a night called Piano Pounders. We featured the kings of the ivory keys like Jerry Lee Lewis, Merrill E. Moore, Chuck Miller, Mickey Gilley, Freddie Slack, Freddie Fingers Lee, The Highliters, Winifred Attwell, Moon Mullican and many more.

On Tuesday 24th April we had a special called Rock'n'Roll Brittania. We featured the more obscure records that were released in the UK in the fifties and early sixties, including Duffy Power, Christian's Crusaders, Dave Sampson, The Strangers, Ritchie Blackmore, Colin Hicks, Johnny Brandon, Raving Savages, Billy Boyle, Alma Cogan, Ted Heath and many more. Club members Malcolm Minney (0077), East End Mark (0126), Dave Brighton (0041), and Terry Cowlishaw (0067) each sponsored part of the show. Thanks Guys !

On Tuesday 17th April we had Jerry Chatabox with his partner Miss Mary Anne. The show was in honour of Billy Lee Riley, who is one of the headliners at the Rockabilly Rave. Billy has been unwell recently but is on the mend for his appearance in June. Jerry came down to promote the artists that will be appearing, and played some wild rockabilly from some of the CDs that are available. As always, a fun night when Jerry is on the show!
He also sponsored the whole show!!

On Tuesday 10th April we had a 'live' band called Elvis & The Blue Moon Trio. These guys came down to promote their new stage musical The Big Elvis Show which was on Saturday 28th April at the Acacia Halls, High Street, Dartford, in Kent. The boys are Lee on vocals, Dave on slap bass, Eddie on guitar and Daisey on drums! The band gave a pair of tickets away as prizes, and they also sponsored the whole show, thanks guys !

On Tuesday 27th March we had a special called 50's & 60's Girls Part 2 following up on the great success of the first All-Girls Special. This time we featured Connie Francis, Shirley Cadell, Maureen Evans, Janis Martin, Helen Shapiro, Eve Boswell, Rose Maddox, Wanda Jackson, Brenda Lee, Pamela Blue and many more. We dig them girls.............

On Tuesday 20th March we had Back To School Part 2. The first special was so popular with the listeners that we had to have a second term. The show featured artists including Gene Vincent, Big Mama Thornton, The Trashmen, Clyde McPhatter, Sonny Burgess, Johnny Restivo, Frankie Lymon, Boyd Bennett and many more!

Janie The Wild Cruisin' Cat came on the show on Tuesday 13th March. Janie runs the Crondall Rock'n'Roll Club, that has just celebrated it's 30th Birthday, and she brought along Elaine Preedy for moral support. They brought their selection of favourite tracks for the show!

On Tuesday 6th March we had Howard & Anya who run the Raucous Record Company, and they brought along Jay Chance, the latest signing to Raucous. Jay brought his guitar and played some 'live' numbers, and Howard brought a selection of his favourite tracks.

On Tuesday 27th February we had the Bonneville Barons playing 'Live' in the studio. These two talented guys came in to promote their new CD on Western Star Records called The Guitar and Bull Fiddle of the Bonneville Barons, and they gave away two copies of the new CD as prizes. The guys are Chris & Yann, who come from Exeter and play 'hot' rockabilly! They also sponsored the whole show! Thanks Guys.

On Tuesday 20th February we had London DJ Hardrock Bunter. Bunter (real name Brian Clark) also writes a column in the UK Rock magazine about the 'London Rock'n'Roll Scene'. Bunter chatted about his life and played a selection of his all-time favourites for the show!

On Tuesday 13th February 2007 we had a School Of Rock'n'Roll special, with 'schooldays' tracks from Chuck Berry, Reggie Perkins, Wee Willie Harris, Tommy Sands, Little Lenny Davis, Nick Todd, Frankie Avalon, Bill Haley and many more. Anything to do with Teachers, Schools and Learning. An educational show!!

On Tuesday 30th January 2007 we had a 'live' session from Frenzy with their legendary bass player Steve Whitehouse, promoting their new CD called 'Nitro Boy' on Crash Records. Steve is on slap bass, Steve Eaton on guitar and Adam Sevoir on drums.
The theme of this night was RETRO rockabilly, and Crash Records sponsored the whole show. Thanks guys!

On Tuesday 23rd January 2007 we had Extrovert - Keith Woods on the show. Keith runs a magazine called 'Tales From The Woods' that covers rock'n'roll, blues, r&b, sixties etc. Keith came down to promote a special tribute concert to the famous 2-I's Coffee Bar scene, on Sunday 28th January 2007, at 100 Oxford Street, London W1. We played tracks by artists who will be performing, like Terry Wayne, Vince Eager, Wee Willie Harris, Buddy Britten, Chas McDevitt and many more.

On Tuesday 16th January 2007 we had a Joe Meek Special with three special guests. We had legendary drummer Clem Cattini, who played on many hit records, and is especially known as a member of the Tornado's. Mark Newson who runs 'Thunderbolt', which is the Joe Meek Appreciation Society's monthly magazine, and Steve Etherington (John Leyton's manager) who is also a member of the society. The whole show was sponsored by the JMAS. A great night of Joe Meek Classics!
