On Tuesday 27th July we had two members of the western swing band Rusti Steele in the studio, Paul and Stew. They came down to plug their new CD called 'Gone With The Wind' on Western Star. Paul also picked some artists that have influenced him over the years. Alan Wilson from Western Star Records kindly sponsored the show!

On Tuesday 20th July we had popular Brummie club DJ Kool Kat Keith returning for another show. Keith picked another 20 tracks from his collection. GRT Club members Allen and Wendy Titley kindly sponsored his show!

On Tuesday 13th July unfortunately Danny Bedocs, editor of Milkcow Magazine, was unable to make it We hope to re-arrange his visit for a future programme.

On Tuesday 6th July we had a split sponsored show. The first half of the show was sponsored by a Mystery Club Member, who turned out to be Marion Scott, to surprise her partner Bob on his 65th birthday. They run the Hiam club in Cambridgeshire.
The second half of the show was sponsored by club members Mick and Donna Fisher, because they won the tickets for the Shake Rattle'n'Roll Weekender, and as a thank-you to us they sponsored half a show. Marion, Mick and Donna each picked a selection of favourite tracks for the listeners. Bob didn't know anything about it beforehand!

On Tuesday 29th June we had the wild man of rock'n'roll Roy Young. He recorded some of the wildest rock'n'roll in those early days, with songs like Big Fat Mama, I Go Ape & Keep A Knockin'. Roy came down to the show with his wife Carol. He now lives back in the UK after a long time living in the States, and he has been booked for 3 major weekenders in the UK next year!

Club Member Malc Minney kindly sponsored the whole show, as well as manning the phones on a very hot and busy night. Thanks Malc !!

On Tuesday 22nd June we had 'The Music Man' John Fisher on the show. This was his 7th sponsored show this year! We have to thank GRT club member Bernie Haake from Germany for sponsoring each of John's shows. Another batch of rare and interesting rockin' tracks for the listeners!

On Tuesday 15th June we had Andrew Ings as a guest. He has just had a book published called "Rockin' At The 2-I's Coffee Bar". The book contains many interviews with artistes who used to frequent the coffee bar, names like Terry Wayne, Vince Eager, Terry Dene, Dave Sampson, Danny Rivers, Russ Sainty, Sir Cliff Richard and many more. The book is published by Book Guild Publishing and sells for £16.99 at most retailers! Another name we haven't mentioned is Wee Willie Harris, and he also came to the studio with Andrew to tell us some stories of those early 50's days!

On Tuesday 8th June we had a sponsored show by GRT club member James Lay from Hailsham. James took us up on our offer for club members to sponsor their own show and he picked out his twenty favourite tracks!

On Tuesday 1st June we had the return of Tony Fry. He gave us another themed show by featuring the Imperial Record Label. Here are a few of the artists he featured on this night - Ricky Nelson, Bob Luman, Weldon Rogers, The Strikes, Laura Lee Perkins, Jackie Walker, Fat's Domino and many more. The whole show was sponsored by Recycled Records and Tony himself! Thanks guys!

On Tuesday 25th May we had GRT club member Rodney 'Rocker' Rich. He picked another twenty tracks from his rock'n'roll collection, and his long time friend 'Senge' also joined him again. Rocker also sponsored the entire show! What a star!

On Tuesday 18th May we had the return of John Fisher with another 'themed' rockin' show. This was the sixth of John's twelve visits which have been kindly sponsored by GRT club member Bernie Haake from Germany!

On Tuesday 11th May we had a Bill Haley special. We should have had Phil Haley & The Comments in the studio, the all-time Bill Haley tribute act, but sadly they were delayed on their way back from some European dates.

On Tuesday 4th May we had GRT club member Bill 'Rocket' Haynes on the show, to celebrate his 65th Birthday. Bill picked his 20 favourite tracks to play for the listeners, and also used the occasion to support his favourite charity. He asked his friends and acquaintances to sponsor each record he played, and he raised over One Thousand Pounds! He also kindly sponsored the show!! On Tuesday 27th April we had GRT club member East End Mark. He is the founder of The International Edwardian Teddyboy Association. Mark chose 20 tracks from his collection, and he came down to promote his forthcoming event at The Roman Way, Luton on Saturday 1st May, featuring The Jive Romeros and The Rhythm Aces. Mark also sponsored the entire show! Another great Teddyboy evening!

On Tuesday 20th April we had GRT club member Pete Gold back on the show. He came up with a 'themed' night with the title of 'WELL'. A clever concept, with almost every track starting with the singer shouting 'Well'. It's not obvious in the titles but it was obvious when the track started. Some examples are Git It / Gene Vincent, My Way / Eddie Cochran, Honey Hush / Johnny Burnette and dozens more!! Well - another great rockin' night. Pete also kindly sponsored the show!

On Tuesday 30th March we invited record producer John Schroeder to the show. He worked in the early days as right-hand-man to Norrie Paramor. He was the guy that got Helen Shapiro started as a young teenager, and he worked for Columbia, Oriole and Pye Records and later, in the seventies, even produced an album by Crazy Cavan. Another interesting and informative night for the listeners! GRT club member Terry Wheeler sponsored the whole show - thanks Terry!

On Tuesday 23rd March we had another sponsored show by GRT club member Boppin' Banger from Garston. She picked another 20 favourite rockers to play for the listeners. This was also a special night as it was her Birthday.

On Tuesday 9th March 2010 we had the return of Joe Meek recording artist Robb Shenton. He came down with fellow Decca Records recording artist Dave Kaye (of Dykons fame), and keyboard instrumentalist Byron Elwell. They have all been involved in a new album called "Retro Reflections" to be released soon. They featured some songs from this new album, and the guys also kindly sponsored the show! Another informative night with some rare early British tracks being played.

On Tuesday 2nd March we had Johnny Red as a guest on the show, on his third visit to Radio Caroline. He came down to promote his latest CD release called 'The Very Best Of Johnny & The Jailbirds (from the beginning)'. He told the listeners about his music career, and the high's and low's of performing throughout the years! He also kindly offered to sponsor the show! Thanks Johnny!

On Tuesday 23rd February we had a sponsored show by GRT club member Derek Carr from Doncaster. He is known to his mates as 'DEK'. He picked his 20 favourite tracks for the listeners! Yet another club member has taken up our offer to sponsor their own show - Thanks Dek!

On Tuesday 16th February we had the return of the two canine DJ's The Two Hound Dogs. They wanted to switch things round that night and take control of the show, and had Dell Richardson as their special guest.

On Tuesday 9th Feb we had John Fisher's fourth sponsored show from club member Bernie Haake from Germany. Another interesting night with lots of rare and rockin' records to please our listeners!

On Tuesday 2nd February 2010 we had a music-only special called Teen, Teenage & Teenager Part 1. In other words, tracks with these words in the title. Here are some we played:- The Jet Men - Teen Scene, Dwight Pullen - Teenage Bug, Ernie Fields - Teen Flip, Dion - Teenager In Love, Brenda Lee - One Teenager to Another, Jerry Lee Lewis - Teenage Letter, Berry Kids - You're My Teenage Partner, Mark Dining - Teen Angel and dozens more. We have enough tracks for a couple of shows! We even played a track by Rolf Harris from 1963 called "Nick O'Teen And Al K. Hall" ha ha!!

On Tuesday 26th January, sadly DJ and promoter Lee Hugman couldn't make it at the last minute for health reasons. We hope he will be back to rude health, and be able to make a visit soon. Dell played a 'mixed bag' of tracks.

On Tuesday 19th January we had club member Saxy Den's unusual themed night called If You Don't Play Rock'n'Roll, You Don't Eat. This show featured artists that were forced by their record companies to make rock'n'roll records even though it was alien to their usual style. We featured stars like Roger Whittaker, Ray Conniff, Slim Dusty, Alma Cogan, Fred Astaire, Ken Macintosh, Tom Jones, Hayley Mills, Joe Loss, Mae West, Stan Freberg, Jack Parnell, John Fraser, Tony Crombie and many more. A different slant on the rockin' 50's scene that was interesting and curious! Den also sponsored the show - Thanks mate!

On Tuesday 12th January, sadly James & Minxy Mel couldn't make it as Mel was unwell. We hope she'll be back on top form soon. Dell played a wide selection of tracks, including many requests.
